ABOUT THE AUTHOR
 APJ Abdul Kalam was born on 15 October 1931 in Rameshwaram, Madras
 He studied Physics and Aerospace Engineering
 He worked as an Aeronautical Engineer with DRDO and ISRO
 He is popularly known as the “Missile Man of India” for his work on development of
ballistic missile and space rocket technology.
 He was elected as 11th
President of India in 2002 with the support of both the
ruling Bharatiya Janata Party and the opposition Indian National Congress
 The Government of India has honoured him with some of the Highest civilian awards like:
Bharat Ratna
Padma Bhushan
Padma Vibhushan
Doctor of Engineering
Doctor of Science, etc.

 Missile Man of India Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam passes away on 27 July 2015
 Kalam had a cardiac arrest while addressing students at the Indian Institute of
Management in the Meghalaya state capital, Shillong.
 He was giving speech on 'Creating a Livable Planet Earth‘
 It was not only the topic of a lecture which he had just begun to deliver before the
management students on that fateful day, but was also the subject of a book
which he could not finish in his lifetime
