1. Welcome to Day 1 of Will Stark’s Bachelor Challenge!
Last ;me was pre>y simple: Will requested the challenge as a way to make it up to him for his arranged marriage in his home
story, An Apocalypse of Ice. Plus, Arthur and Sabriel introduced us to the bachelore>es! From top to bo>om as pictured above,
they are: Lilah Whedon (A Buffyverse Apocalypse), Sara Jones (Romancing the Apocalypse), Faye Morgan (The Morgan Legacy),
Rhapsody Bohemian (The Bohemian Legacy), Lulu Buccaneer (The Fitzhugh Legacy & A Villainous Apocalypse), Elaine
Goodytwoshoes (The Squeaky Clean Legacy) and Marielle Hutchins (A Victorian Legacy).
Yes, that Marielle Hutchins. Of course, Arthur and Sabriel are looking for ways to remove her from the picture.
So, let’s see what happens once the bachelore>es turn up and Will stops singing along to Lady GaGa, shall we?

2. “You ready to get started?” Lily asked Arthur and Sabriel. “The first day is the most important one—”

3. “What the hell?” Sabriel asked. “Marielle Hutchins? One of the most evil legacy spouses of all ;me?”

4. “You know how on every reality TV show, there’s always a villain?” Lily asked.

5. “We don’t have a television,” Arthur said. “Even if we did, this s;ll doesn’t make any sense.”

6. “Oh. See, I don’t want her to win.” Lily laughed. “I just want her to cause some drama! That’s what reality show villains do!
Everybody loves to hate them, and then they get voted off, and everyone loves it!”

7. “This is our brother we’re talking about,” Arthur reminded Lily. “He’s trying to be happy. His life isn’t just something to cause
drama with.”
“Oh, relax. She’s not going to win.”

8. “Of course she won’t. We’ll make sure she doesn’t.”

9. Will looked around the front lawn at the bachelore>es who Lily had chosen for him. She had chosen well, he decided. They were
all really good‐looking.

10. The one in the purple dress who towered over all of them was especially hot, he decided.

11. “WILL! WHAT’S WRONG WITH YOU?” Sabriel asked.
“LOOK AT HER. HER EYES ARE CRAZY.”
Lily sighed in disapproval.

12. Of course, the problem with taking a minute to look around was that almost everyone had already started talking to everyone
else, and Will didn’t know where to jump in or who to talk to.

13. “I don’t like you one bit,” Lilah told Faye. “I just thought you should know that.”

14. “Like me, don’t like me, fine. But get out of my face.”

15. As a finger‐gunning Popularity Sim, Sara actually was here to make friends. But she had go>en caught up in a game of Avoid the
Bachelor catch with Rhapsody.

16. Eventually, Will decided to approach the girl in the pink dress. She looked friendly, and she was talking about how she wanted to
find love.

17. “I’m glad you’re here,” Will said to her. “I’m looking forward to geeng to know everyone.”

18. Though their conversa;on seemed to go well for a while, Elaine eventually got mad and turned away at about the ;me Will said
she looked like a princess.

19. Elaine bonds with Marielle.
“I’m really looking forward to the kissing dates.”
“I do not care what you have to say, but I will try to express my disinterest politely.”

20. Lulu bonds with Faye.
“Don’t worry. Some people are just nega;ve. This probably doesn’t have any bearing on what Will’s going to think of you.”
“Whatever. I want to poke her. Insul;ng her would also be acceptable.”

21. Eventually, Will approached Elaine again. “I’m sorry I upset you,” he said. “I might be a Romance sim, but I’ve barely had a chance
to talk to anyone I’m interested in before.”

22. “Well, you are the bachelor. I should probably talk to you instead of running off,” Elaine said. “Just…please don’t call me
princess.”

23. Will smiled. “I won’t do that.”

24. “That was fun,” Sara said.
“It was! I think I might go introduce myself to Will, though.” Rhapsody looked over at where he was talking to Elaine.

25. “Or you could play catch with me some more.”
“That sounds fun!”

26. And now the hos;li;es have escalated to the point of poking.

27. Sara a>empts to tell Lilah a joke to diffuse the tension.

28. But there’s no keeping these two apart for long.

29. Elaine seems to be trying to reform Marielle.
Elaine: True Love?

30. Marielle: No.

31. To escape the drama, Will headed for the karaoke machine.

Well, I haven’t had much Mme to talk to Will yet. I’ve been a bit busy trying to keep Lilah and Faye from each other’s throats, and
—if I had to take a side, I’d go with Faye, because I think Lilah started it. But Will’s cute, and I’m hoping I can talk to him soon.

33. It looked like some other people would get to talk to him first, though.
“Will? Come out!”

34. “I knew I was going to regret this.”
“Yeah, but you did it anyway,” Sabriel said.

35. “Why’s everybody shou;ng—oh! Hey! You’re here!”

36. “You bet we are!”

37. “And we need to talk to you. Now.”

38. “Jesus Christ on a pogo s;ck. Don’t you yell at me enough back home?” Will slumped.

39. “I’m not even trying to yell at you! This ;me! Look, I’ve read the dossiers on these bachelore>es, and I came here to tell you that
that Marielle woman is bad news. If you don’t want to listen, fine, but it’ll be your problem when you marry her and she suddenly
loses all interest in you, hates it when you touch her, insists on doing everything her way (which usually means doing nothing—”

40. “What’s wrong with you? She’s standing right over there!”
“That’s the point. I want her to know that she’s not welcome here.”
“But she is welcome here! Lily wouldn’t bring someone like that here!”

41. “I didn’t think she would, either. But she did. Now, you can either listen to me or get rid of her, or you can accidentally wind up
with someone who’s just going to cheat on you anyway.”
“I don’t think you understand. We’re Romance Sims. That’s what we’re supposed to do.”
“Fine. Be that way.”

42. S;ll, Sabriel had at least go>en Will wondering about Marielle.

43. Everyone had turned up to eat lunch, so maybe some of them would actually talk to him.

44. “So, how’s everyone doing so far?” Will asked, looking down the table.

45. “I am doing well,” Marielle said.
Wait. Let’s take a look at that closeup.

47. “The weather’s nice today,” Faye said.

48. “It is. I don’t think I’ve ever seen weather anywhere near this nice,” Will said. “Even when the sun shines back home, it’s not
actually warm.”

49. “Really?” Rhapsody asked. “I can’t even imagine that!”

50. “It’s not that strange,” Lulu said. “One of the towns that I’ve lived in was like that.”

51. “I love snow, but I can’t imagine it not ever being warm out,” Rhapsody said to Lulu. “It must be sad.”

52. Will smiled, but he was thinking of a lot of other things that were sad. The sun not shining was not on the list.

54. “Aren’t you being a li>le violent?”

55. “Violence is bad. It doesn’t solve the problem.”

I actually talked to Will at dinner today, which means I’m probably doing beQer than someone in this house.

59. Faye and Sara spent their evening reading romance novels for inspira;on.

60. Lulu and Marielle squared off at pool.

61. And Lilah agreed with Rhapsody’s statement that she was awesome.

62. Once again, Elaine actually interacted with the bachelor, approaching Will for a game of kicky bag.

So far, this is preQy fun, and I’m glad Lily did this. I wish some of these people would actually talk to me, though, and I can’t help
but wonder about what Sabriel said.

This is fun. I wasn’t sure if this would be the right thing for me to do, but Will seems like a really nice guy. Maybe I could fall in
love with him.

I can’t really comment on the bachelor. I haven’t spoken to him. It feels like it would be a waste of Mme to do this and then get
eliminated on the first day, but the Mme never feels right to talk to him.

67. Nighty‐night, Will.
This slide is very, very important.

68. Morning came, and Faye and Lilah weren’t geeng along any be>er.

69. “Are you ever going to stop figh;ng?” Will asked that morning.
“No. I’m not here to make friends.” Lilah turned away.

70. And the truth comes out! Lilah doesn’t hate Faye so much aher all!

71. Aher breakfast that morning, though, Lilah realized that she hadn’t spoken to Will at all and pulled him outside for a water balloon
fight.

72. He’d never done that before, but they weren’t that different from snowball fights—just find projec;les and toss them at people.

73. Then they both headed for the pool table together.

74. Everyone else mused about who was going to go home at noon that day.

75. Will thought the same thing as he shuffled the cards by himself at the poker table and tried to tune out Marielle’s singing. He
didn’t know very much about most of the people here, he realized. But he hadn’t go>en a very good first impression of one of
them, so he might as well send her home.

76. “I wish I had more ;me to get to know you,” he explained. “I feel like we got off on the wrong foot. But I have to say goodbye to
someone. I’m sorry.”

77. “I understand,” Rhapsody said. “Somebody has to go first.”

It’s sad to see Dee go (how could anyone not love her?) but aher geeng some perspec;ve, I can see why she and Will wouldn’t
have worked out.
