Julia needed braces to correct issues with her teeth. As a child, she had four teeth pulled which caused her remaining teeth to grow in oddly. In fourth grade, she got an expander to make room for her teeth, followed by braces on her front teeth to close a gap. In fifth grade, she got braces on her top and bottom teeth which were very painful. After her braces were removed, her teeth still needed adjustments. She wore another device for many months until her teeth were finally straight, and now wears retainers at night. The process took years and cost a lot of money but was worth it to have straight teeth.

WHY I HAD BRACES

2. As you can tell I
haven’t had perfect
teeth my whole life.
So for a lot of my life
I’ve had braces or
things close to it.

3. When I was younger I
got four teeth pulled.
I was missing teeth
for a long time which
made them grow in
an odd matter.

4. In fourth grade I finally got
started and went to my first
appointment.
My jaw was too small for my
teeth so I had to get an expander

5. After that was
done I got my
braces.
It was on my four
front teeth to
close up this big
gap.

6.  After that I needed a
retainer.
 I never wore them though

7. In fifth grade I got
braces on all of
my teeth top and
bottom.
I remember how
badly they hurt
the first day.

8. Once I got them off, my
teeth weren’t moved all
the way.
I had to get something I
wore one hour a day to
move them more.

9. I had to have that
for many months.
But now I have
retainers.

10. I only have to
wear them at
night now
though.
So now after all of
those years of
hard work I finally
have straight
teeth.

11. This all cost a lot
of money but it
was all worth it.
And that is why I
needed braces.
