23. The rise of the waistline
WHIITE is fast-becoming known for its signature styles designed for everyday use. Each
piece of clothing is created with the WHIITE woman in mind and to the many needs she
has for her wardrobe: from needing the perfect workwear, to dressing up for a night out.
The 1930s provides the backdrop to the AW15 collection with a focus on more feminine
styling combined with androgynous and masculine elements. Waists are higher, hem lines
are dropped and pieces within the collection are form-fitting.
For WHIITE’s Design Director, Frederikke Hviid, it’s all a matter of detail and composition:
“The way you look in WHIITE can be either soft and feminine or bold and structured. It’s really
up to the wearer. The details in the clothing can tell a story and bring a sense of identity to the
clothing.”
Inspiration for AW15 comes from a woman’s innate understand of herself - from her
everyday life, her work commitments and what she does in her spare time. The woman who
wears WHIITE is always elegant and sophisticated, but she has an edge. She is passionate
about quality and never compromises.

Classic menswear references including pinstripes,
striped shirts, herringbone prints, checks and suits
are balanced with feminine references using lighter
fabrics, fitted forms and draped dresses
Layering is key. Light and heavy knits are combined
using light silks with heavy wool and thicker quilted
fabrics with leather
Fabrics are tactile and interesting and are both shiny
and matt, which creates different effects when layered
or worn as separates
Statement outwear to really ensure the WHIITE
woman stands out in a crowd, but in a classic, yet
modern way
Pieces are easy and simple to wear and through
layering, the combinations are endless
Silhouettes are longer: longer coats, dresses and skirts
which fall below the knee
Detail is key with as much attention paid to the design
of the inside as it is on the outside
