absolute standard. Accuracy specifications usually contain the effect of errors due to gain and
offset parameters. Offset errors can be given as a unit of measurement such as volts or ohms and
are independent of the magnitude of the input signal being measured. An example might be
given as ±1.0 millivolt (mV) offset error, regardless of the range or gain settings. In contrast,
gain errors do depend on the magnitude of the input signal and are expressed as a percentage of
the reading, such as ±0.1%. Total accuracy is therefore equal to the sum of the two: ±(0.1% of
input +1.0 mV). An example of this is illustrated in Table 1.

Precision
Precision describes the reproducibility of the measurement. For example, measure a steady state
signal many times. In this case if the values are close together then it has a high degree of
precision or repeatability. The values do not have to be the true values just grouped together.
Take the average of the measurements and the difference is between it and the true value is
accuracy.
Resolution
Resolution can be expressed in two ways:
It is the ratio between the maximum signal measured to the smallest part that can be resolved -
usually with an analog-to-digital (A/D) converter.
It is the degree to which a change can be theoretically detected, usually expressed as a number of
bits. This relates the number of bits of resolution to the actual voltage measurements.
In order to determine the resolution of a system in terms of voltage, we have to make a few
calculations. First, assume a measurement system capable of making measurements across a ±10
V range (20 V span) using a 16-bits A/D converter. Next, determine the smallest possible
increment we can detect at 16 bits. That is, 216 = 65,536, or 1 part in 65,536, so 20 V÷65536 =
305 microvolt (µV) per A/D count. Therefore, the smallest theoretical change we can detect is
305 µV.
Unfortunately, other factors enter the equation to diminish the theoretical number of bits that can

they are hydrophilic or water loving at one end) and non polar (that menas hydrophobic or water
fearing) at the other end. This bipolar nature of phospholipids is called as amphipathic.A
phopspholopid has a glycerol molecule attached at its head with two long fatty acid hydrocarbon
chains. Long hydrocarbon tail of the lipid part has non-polar bonds and is hydrophobic in nature
whereas head part of it, where phosphate group is attached is hydrophilic in nature. These
amphiphatic molecule comes together to form bilayer structures of cell membrane.
This phopholipids are thus being hydrophobic at one end form a barrier for water to enter the
cell. Majorly water passes in the cell through special channel proteins called aquaporins.
Aquaporins act as transmembrane proteins which act as gated water channels thereby facilitating
the rapid transport of water acoss the cell membrane, even against the concentration

Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
