1. Chapter 11 Little Ann’s Predicament

2. t Billy and his family were in a terrible blizzard, and when it was all over it had snowed over three inches. Billy made his plan to go hunting, because he knew how coons wanted to get out after a storm. His father warned him about the weather, and soon Billy was off. He and his dogs walked into the cold night air.

3. FDAD Old Dan and Little Ann worked the trail fast. They were running side by side as Billy whooped for them as Loud as he could. Billy realized that the coon was going to try, and trick Little Ann and Old Dan. The dogs voices grew louder, and Billy realized that the dogs were coming right toward him. The dogs were right on the coons heels.

4. They were heading for the river that wasn’t quite frozen over. When Billy was “halfway through the Fog-covered river bottoms”,. Little Ann and Old Dan stopped barking. Billy began to get worried. Billy Yelled, hoping they would reply with a bark. There he began the search for his dogs. Slipping and sliding on the water, his worries began to build up. He heard the center of the stream ripple. He walked downstream where he last heard his dogs voice. Billy hadn’t wandered far when he heard Old Dan’s voice.

5. While Old Dan bawled he seemed to have a plea for help in his voice. Billy almost ran past him, but when he heard Old Dan’s voice again he instantly knew where he was. Billy yelled out his name, but this time Old Dan came to him. Old Dan looked like he was mourning. He cried. Old Dan didn’t even have to cry. Billy knew when Old Dan didn’t come with Little Ann something had happened to her. I whooped to her. She replied with a sorrowful cry. Old Dan was able to escape out of the freezing water, but Little Ann’s body couldn’t make the leap. Billy knew he had to do something fast.

6. He laid his lantern and ax down. Billy ran to help Little Ann. Even though Billy didn’t know how to help her he knew he had to do something. Little Ann was pleading with Billy it seemed. He wished he could see her. Maybe he could help her. Billy saw Old Dan first. He knew Little Ann wasn’t far away. He saw her struggling with the water. He was about to call to Old Dan saying their was nothing he could do. Billy instead said a prayer. He kept praying for a miracle. In a metallic sound he heard his answer.
