If you've ever wanted to write a book, this is a brief tutorial that highlights some key points to help you simplify the process.
Today's books can be in many formats: Instagram, print, YouTube, Facebook Notes, SlideShare, Second Life. There are formats that haven't been invented yet that will eventually become book publishing platforms.
Most of my writing is non-fiction, so the slant on this presentation will seem geared to that, however, I've added some fiction-specific notes that are based on what other writers have shared about their process.
Writing comes down to this: there is no right or wrong way to work through the process. That said, there IS a wrong way if you don't take the care and attention to make it as good as possible before it leaves your computer. You owe your reader that much.

I have been a professional sports writer and covered the National Hockey League for over 20 years for several publications and sports services, including NBCSports.com. I was the first woman to ever headman a football conference in Canada (Prairie Football Conference), was PR Director for the Edmonton Trappers Baseball Club, and was a volunteer media liaison with the Hockey Committee during the 1988 Olympic Winter Games.
