Humanism had a significant impact on several disciplines according to the evidence from Erasmus and Petrarch. In art and literature, individuals began drawing and writing about topics other than religion and were able to make careers as artists. In science and technology, people started investigating ideas that challenged the Church's teachings, such as the Earth orbiting the sun rather than vice versa. They also began inventing things like mansions and restaurants. In life, individuals enjoyed pleasures rather than believing all acts required religious justification, and studied new subjects beyond theology in universities. In religion, some lost faith while others still believed in God but questioned Church authority.
