- Taking advantage of extra time… Often for focus groups, a certain number of people show up early: We commonly try to take advantage of this time by… Having a short survey on another topic/project for folks to fill out while they wait For instance, whenever one of my peers has groups during November or December for any topic, I can easily have a written questionaire digging into what she’s doing activities with her kids to build excitement and anticipation for Christmas or what new things she’s bought to decorate her home for Christmas and why Great way to build up better hypotheses before spending money on more formal research Great way to test on certain types of questions to see if they really reveal the type of information you hoped so you can refine them before putting in a more formal survey Work with business partners to show consumers new product prototoypes or packaging while they wait to get feedback to help with iterations One of our monthly tracker studies was designed to allow a few extra questions each month that we can utilize as we need to explore other issues This also offers a little change of pace for respondents answering the same questions each month to get a few new things
