What are some of the pros and cons of using GDP to measure the economic well being of a society? Unemployment and inflation are two major macroeconomic concerns in any economy. Many (but nowhere near all) economists believe there is a tradeoff between inflation and unemployment, meaning that certain policies that help inflation might hurt unemployment and vice versa.
