West bank wall
1.
2. “It’s a small world”,
a phrase that many of
us heard many times
3. Today, technology has erased the borders between
cities, states, countries, and even contents, and made the whole
world like a small village.
4. In these days, where technology erased all
borders, can you believe that there is a wall being built
that separates families, friends, and even neighbors?!!!
Yes, it’s true, in the Middle East, in Palestine; a wall is
being built around the west bank and Jerusalem.

6. In June 2002, the
government of Israel
decided to build a
physical barrier to
separate Israel and the
West Bank. In most
areas, the barrier is
made of an electronic
fence with dirt paths,
barbed-wire fences,
and trenches on both
sides, at an average
width of 200 feet. In
some areas, a concrete
wall 20-26 feet high
would be built instead.
7. The length of the system – already built, under construction, or in
planning – is 440 miles, a distance twice as long as the Green Line.
8. Since the construction of
the wall began, Palestinians
filed many petitions against the
wall. The International Center
for Human Rights said that in
areas where the wall has
already been built, there have
been many violations of human
rights of Palestinians living
nearby. In the process of the
construction, many Palestinians
have lost their
land, homes, jobs, and some
even their lives.

11. In July 2004, the International Court of
Justice (ICJ), and the United Nation
(UN), confirmed that
Despite all this, the
construction of the wall
continued.
