MARKET WRAP
Indian markets closed green. Sensex & Nifty climbed by 1.21% & 1.56%.
Wall St ended up. US Unemployment Claims decreased by 14k to 298K.
Asia-Pacific mkts ended mixd. UK retail sales increased by 0.1% in July.
Indian indices climbed on the back of positive economic data. Asian and European
indices rallied during last week. The Markit flash Euro zone composite output index 52.8
in August, compared with a final reading of 53.8 in July. The HSBC China
Manufacturing PMI fell to 50.3 in August from July's 51.7. US existing-home sales
increased 5.15 million in July to their highest annual pace of the year from 5.03 in June.
Nifty is expected to be volatile and will move within the spread of 8100 to 7750 level.
Indian indices traded higher on positive global data and softening of crude oil priced
boosted sentiment. Trading for the week began with a bang and nifty hits record high.
Mid- cap and Small-Cap indices outperformed. Economic data will be watch for the
week; the government will release Q1 June GDP data on 29 August. The market may
remain volatile in this week as traders roll over positions in future & options segment.
Nifty rose by 121 pts, ended at 7913. Sensex jumped by 316 pts, closed at 26419.
World markets jumped in last week, on positive sentiment. European markets edged
higher with FTSE went higher by 1.29%. DAX and CAC closed with smart gain by
2.71% and 1.88% respectively. US markets ended with strong gains, DJIA went up by
2.03%, NASDAQ and S&P 500 jumped by 1.65% and 1.71% respectively. Asian indices
ended up except Seoul, Nikkei gained over 1%, Hang Seng climbed by 0.63%. Jakarta
and KLSE went higher by 0.97% & 0.51% respectively. Seoul declined by 0.32%.
