It was based on around a person I used to work with (Grant) who kept Geckos (lizards) as a hobby .
At the time, Steve Irwin’s “Crocodile Hunter” series was on television, so it seemed a perfect thematic marriage – but I also think sleep deprivation played a part ...
While it is sad that Steve Irwin is no longer with us, it is my hope that he too would have found this amusing.
