2015 Pre-sessional Programme Independent Learning Week 8: Next Steps: Making the Most out of the University Experience
Discussion: § What types of opportunities do you hope to find after the Pre-sessional? § Where might you go/look to find opportunities for socialising? Professional experience? § Have you heard of any clubs, societies or activities that you would like to join after the Pre-sessional?
When is the best time to… § Join a society? § Introduce yourself to flatmates? § Sit next to new people in lectures? § Say ‘yes’ to going for tea/coffee after lectures? § Go with your flatmates to a social event? § Invite your flatmates to a social event?
Activity: § Explore the webpage: susu.org § Consider a club or society that you would like to join § Identify the times/locations of events such as the ‘Freshers Fayre’ and the ‘Bun Fight’

  • 2. Discussion: § What types of opportunities do you hope to find after the Pre-sessional? § Where might you go/look to find opportunities for socialising? Professional experience? § Have you heard of any clubs, societies or activities that you would like to join after the Pre-sessional?
  • 3. When is the best time to… § Join a society? § Introduce yourself to flatmates? § Sit next to new people in lectures? § Say ‘yes’ to going for tea/coffee after lectures? § Go with your flatmates to a social event? § Invite your flatmates to a social event?
  • 4. Activity: § Explore the webpage: susu.org § Consider a club or society that you would like to join § Identify the times/locations of events such as the ‘Freshers Fayre’ and the ‘Bun Fight’
