This document provides instructions for an in-class workout assignment where students will create a 30 second to 1 minute introduction of themselves as a teacher for their future students using the Voki.com avatar creation tool. Students are asked to consider their audience of students and use appropriate expression and language. To receive credit, students must embed their Voki introduction on their ePortfolio About Me page along with a title and brief description, and submit a link to the page on the course site.

2. IN-class workout #1: Your first day introduction
• Imagine you became a teacher and you are having
your own first class. How can you introduce yourself
to your future students?
• You will be using a tool called Voki.com to create your
own avatar and introduction.
o Create at least 30 seconds to 1 minute introduction
o Consider your audience (your future students) and use
appropriate expression and language
o Follow your instructor’s instructions on how to submit the
final assignment on your ePortfolio -> About Me page
