Week 5
We can honor Jesus with actions and words.
“That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and
on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus
Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:10-
11).
We learned this week that Jesus is our king and we can honor
him with our words and actions (Mark 11:1-11). Strengthen your
family’s faith learning and growth at home with this easy idea:
? Parents: Talk with your kids about someone who’s a hero to you,
and why. Explain how you show that person what he or she means
to you. Then encourage your children to think of people they might
consider heroes—and talk about ways they could show their heroes
how much they admire and respect them. Finally, talk about how
Jesus is our ultimate hero. Remind your children that, through our
words and actions, we need to show Jesus how much he means to us.
pray Lord, thank you for sending Jesus to be our hero by dying on the cross
for us. Teach us to show Jesus how much he means to us through our
words and actions. In Jesus’ name, amen.
