The students will be divided as diversely as possible. The class consists of 20
students total, being made up of 10 boys and 10 girls. 7 of the children are Latino, 8
are Caucasian, and 5 are African American. By the end of the week 100% of the
students will successfully be able to identify what they believe are the most
significant pieces during the Renaissance Era and why they feel this way.
Each student will create a PowerPoint with 3 individual slides of what they
think are the most important and impressive works during the Renaissance Era.
The students will be instructed to address these arguments to their peers. This will
help them with their critical thinking process as well. Finally, I will address to the
students that there is no right or wrong paints to find, they aren’t expected to pick
the Mona Lisa, David, and Sistine Chapel in order to get a good grade. They will be
encouraged to find what work speaks the most to them.

Here are the sources in which the students will search through in order to retrieve
their information for the project.

For maximum points: Clearly explain why you feel certain works are important, do
not have misspelled words, don’t mix up the artists, everyday your project is late is
5 points taken from your assignment.
The purpose of this assignment is to encourage students to have a greater
appreciation of these works and understand why this era in history is so revered. If
the students don’t care much for these types of works they are encouraged to speak
up about their arguments made and why they feel this way. This of course doesn’t
make them exempt from performing the classwork.
