                  there too.

The student will also be learning about the history
back then in a fun and hands on way. By working with
a partner they’ll be able to brain storm with two minds
and come up with different ways to get what they
                  need.

Title It’s the mid-nineteenth century and you
Introduction and your family have just survived the long
Task torturous journey across America to get to
   Process
California where you are now going to live.

You want to bake a cake as a surprise for your
  Conclusion
family but you have very little money and
                  very little ingredients.
Using the little money have and some
bartering/trading skills you need to go
around your new home and get all the
ingredients and then later actually make it.

                                                     The Process
                  1) First you will be partnered up with another student and you will work together for the
     Title
                      whole project.
Introduction 2)You will begin by picking the type of cake you want to be making. Remember, you have
     Task to
be able to easily get the ingredients; there were no Wal-Mart’s or Acme’s back then.
Process 3)Then you find out the ingredients for that kind of cake ( only from this website
Cake Recipies )and make it into a list form like this. (this is for a chocolate cake)
  Evaluation *1 1/2 cups flour
                      *1 cup sugar
  Conclusion *1 teaspoon baking powder
                      *1/2 teaspoon baking soda
                      *1/3 cup cocoa
*1 1/2 sticks soft unsalted butter
                      *2 large eggs
                      *2 teaspoons vanilla extract
                      *2/3 cup sour cream
                  4) You must research from a creditable cite how much these items were in the mid-
nineteenth century. You only have $7 but you don’t have to just use your money.
                  5) You must research other ways people paid for goods and products back then. If you
                      want
to pay for something using something other than money you must get it approve by the
                     teacher.
                  6) Next to each ingredient on your list explain how you will get it or how much it was.
                  7) Once you have gotten all your ingredients, you need to research how cooking was done
back then. This is before there were ovens, mixers or stoves.
Some history on cooking over a fire.
                  8) These are the cooking utensils you will use to cook with.
                    O Bowl
                    O Pan
Credits O Pan fire stand and a peat fire pit
                  9) Once you have done all of this the teacher will pick the best method of getting these
