1. The presentation
You need to present your information to your classmates using a Powerpoint
presentation.
Your presentation must include:
1) A title page (title and group members)
2) A slide answering each question about your holiday
3) A bibliography of any resources you used

2. How to Create a Powerpoint Presentation
1) Click Start, then hold your mouse over All Programs
2) Hold your mouse over Microsoft Office, click on Microsoft Office
Powerpoint 2003
3) Click on File and Save As, give your presentation a name and click Save
Don’t forget to click SAVE often as you work and again before you exit
or log off!!!!
4) To change the background color, click Format, Background, the
dropdown arrow and More Colors- click on a color and then Apply to All
5) To change the design click Format, Slide Design, and click on them until
you find one you like
6) To begin your presentation, type a title on the first slide and put all of
your group members’ names for the subtitle.
7) To add more slides, click Insert, New Slide
8)To change the layout, click Format, Slide Layout, then click on them until
you find one you like
9) Be sure that your last slide has your bibliography

3. How to Write a Bibliography
Book:
Author’s last name, author’s first name. Title of Book. City of publication: Publisher,
Year published.
Encyclopedia:
Author of article’s last name, first name. “Title of article”. Title of Book. Date or Year.
Article in a periodical (newspaper, magazine, etc):
Author of article’s last name, first name. “Title of article”. Title of Periodical date:
page number.
Online Encyclopedia:
Author’s last name, author’s first name. “Title of article”. Name of encyclopedia.
Publisher, date. Date you used the site.
Website:
Author’s last name, author’s first name. “Title of article”. Title of Website. Date you
used the site. <www.the-web-address.com>.

4. Research and Copyright Basics
When you do research, you need to be sure that you do not copy
exactly what the book, magazine, encyclopedia, or website said- you
can use their ideas and information, but do
not use the exact
same words and sentences they used.
You also need to cite your sources. This means that you have to give
credit to the people you got the information from. A list of the sources
you used is called a BIBLIOGRAPHY.
If you use someone else’s words and do not cite the
source, it is called plagiarism, and it is against the
law.
