This honors thesis investigates optical trapping and quantum sensing using nanodiamonds. The student performed measurements of spin-lattice relaxation times (T1) and optically detected magnetic resonance (ODMR) on nanodiamonds trapped in an optical tweezers setup. The infrared trapping laser was found to directly affect the optical dynamics and population evolution of the nitrogen-vacancy defect centers in diamond. Baseline T1 and ODMR measurements were then performed without optical trapping to characterize the nanodiamonds. Mathematical modeling of the energy level transitions suggests the infrared laser modifies the transition rates between states. This work provides groundwork for further study on how optical trapping influences nitrogen-vacancy center properties important for

The document discusses three exercises involving voltage and current dividers. In the first exercise, it calculates the total resistance, input current, and currents through each resistor in a three-resistor divider. The second exercise does the same for a two-stage divider. It finds the equivalent resistances and input/output currents. The third exercise calculates the total resistance and input current for a three-resistor divider, then uses ohm's law to determine the voltages across each resistor.

- The technology underpinning cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, known as the blockchain, has potential for transforming how public and private services record and secure transactions. It could enhance efficiency in areas like tax collection, benefits administration, land registries, and supply chain management.
- Distributed ledgers offer benefits over centralized legacy IT systems by being inherently more resistant to cyberattacks and tampering, with multiple shared copies maintained across networks. However, ensuring their security remains
