More than a green thumbed gardening project, it’s also supported our students to improve
their concentration, motor skill development and mood balance and has decreased anxiety
in some. They’ve also gained focus and confidence, all of which have positively contributed
to the development of their Language, Literacy and Numeracy skills.
Garden@TAFE is located between A and B Blocks on our South Bank campus. The next
time you’re passing, stop and be reminded of how a simple idea can make such a huge
difference to our students. Thank you Petula!.
We SEE a Garden@TAFE
SEE (Skills for Education and Employment
Programme) language and literacy teacher,
Petula McCartney has seen her idea of an
edible garden become a reality this year,
resulting in more than just great greens on
campus.
Petula’s innovation, initiative, commitment
and collaboration resulted in the creation of a
space where active learning engages our
language and literacy students.
