Walter Elias Disney, known as Walt, was Roy Disney's youngest brother and the founder of The Walt Disney Company. Roy Disney co-founded Walt Disney Productions, which later became The Walt Disney Company. As a child, Walt enjoyed drawing and developed an interest in trains while living in Marceline, Missouri. Walt attended art schools in Kansas City and Chicago before briefly joining the army during World War I at age 16, though he was too young and instead joined the Red Cross, driving an ambulance in France for a year before returning to Chicago to pursue his career in art.
