The document is a letter from Elvis to his mother thanking her for all of her support over the years. He gives her a pink Cadillac as a gift to show his gratitude for introducing him to music, getting him his first guitar instead of a bike, supporting his career despite the stress it caused, and helping him get through high school. 1. Dear mom,
I just wanted to give you this pink Cadillac as a thank you. Thank you for all the wonderful years that you have given me. You helped to make all
this fame possible, you were the one that let me go into that recording studio. It was you who first introduced me to music and all the different types out there.
You got me that guitar instead of a bike and I am so thankful you did! Thank you for supporting my opinions and putting up with all of the stress I caused you,
which was a lot considering how protective you were.
I know that you did what you did for my benefit and so that I wouldn’t forget about Jessie. Every year that I’m not home on my birthday I pay my
respects to him from a far, just know that I will never forget. I also want to thank you for my good looks, because without them I wouldn’t be able to meet my
beautiful wife. Also for the dancing skills, if it wasn’t for them I probably wouldn’t be as famous as I am either! I just wish that I could take you with me to all
the cities that I play at I think you would like it. There are all kinds of places out there; some cities are busy, flashy, and huge with hundreds of different
people in them. Others are calmer, and slightly smaller I think you would this kind better! The larger cities are beautiful though with all the lights and such,
but it’s quite dangerous and noisy, I think it would give you a headache.
I also want to thank you for helping me get through high school, without your help I could not have done it. Now I know that you won’t be able to
drive it but I just wanted to give you the car of your dreams as a thank you gift! Hope to see you soon!
Sincerely
Elvis
