1. Use of Video for Business Applications May 25, 2011

Providing video services to North Country residents and businesses since 2001, we have observed increasing
opportunities to use video applications for business purposes.
Video clips can enliven a website, provide product demos or information regarding services, and bring
communications to a new and productive level. Online or on DVD, training videos are great for employee
safety and development and essential for compliance with State and Federal regulations.
Video services are available to everyone, cost is no longer an issue. Choices can be made ranging from doing
your own video applications, to the hiring of high end production companies, and everything in between.
YouTube services are completely free and are widely used.
Doyle Dean
Doyle Dean is an independent videographer and editor with twenty years experience. Doyle started shooting
and editing video in high school creating music videos for local bands. He went on to earn a B.A. in Radio/TV/
Film from Wayne State University in Detroit and then moved to Los Angeles.
Doyle worked in L.A. as a writer, director, producer, and editor for ten years, at times joining forces with some
of the industry’s top commercial and music video producers and directors, including Mark Pellington, Tony
Scott, and Mark Story.
Doyle worked briefly as a producer at a television station in Richmond, Virginia and later taught video art and
humanities courses at Universities in Indiana.
Doyle wrote, produced, and directed a feature film entitled Four Way Stop in 1998 (16mm, 95min); produced
and edited a documentary about contemporary artist Patrick Dougherty in 2003 (DV, 30 min); and occasionally
exhibits his own sound and video art pieces.
Currently he shoots and edits video content for SUNY Potsdam’s website and is collaborating with Crane
instructor Marsha Baxter on a documentary about Crane’s Latin Ensemble and their workshops with former
members of the Tito Puente Orchestra. He’s lived in Potsdam, New York with his wife and three kids since
2008.
