Induction lighting is a fluorescent lamp technology that generates light through electromagnetic induction. It eliminates the need for electrodes and filaments by using a high frequency magnetic field to excite mercury atoms within the lamp. This causes the mercury to emit UV light that the phosphor coating converts to visible light. External induction lamps have an induction coil wrapped around the lamp tube, while internal lamps have a re-entrant cavity containing the coil. Induction lamps have longer lifetimes than traditional fluorescent lamps and produce light with a higher scotopic to photopic ratio, making the light appear brighter to human vision and allowing lower wattage induction lamps to replace higher wattage traditional lamps.

20. (Sylvania 400W HPS compared to USWAY 200W Induction Lamp)
Photopic vision is the vision of the eye under well-lit conditions. In humans, photopic vision allows color perception.
Scotopic vision is the monochromatic vision of the eye in low light. Since cone cells are nonfunctional in low light, scotopic vision is produced
exclusively through rod cells, so therefore there is no color perception.
The S/P (Scotopic/ Photopic) ratio determines the visual brightness of a light source and determines how much light a lamp produces which is
useful to the human eyes, that is Visually Perceived Lumens.
Based on the above findings, we can use the S/P Ratio to adjust standard Photopic footcandles to a more useful measurement that takes both the
Scotopic and Photopic light into account.
For example, Sylvania High Pressure Sodium 400W LU400/ECO bulb emits 45,000 mean lumens, but to determine Perceived Lumens we
need to adjust them by the S/P factor of 0.62.
Sylvania 400W x 112.5 lm/Watt = 45,000 lm x 0.62 = 27,900 Perceived Lumen. That is the actual lumen output as perceived by the human
eye.
USWAY 200W x 86 lm/Watt = 17,200 lm x 2.1 = 36,120 Perceived Lumen. That is 29% higher than lumen output perceived from Sylvania
400W bulb.
Furthermore, although the initial lumen output of a Metal Halide (MH) and High Pressure Sodium (HPS) light bulb may be quite high, those
bulbs are known for their poor lumen maintenance. The average 400W MH and HPS bulb emits only 65% of its initial lumens by the time it
hits Mean lamp life (40% of total lamp life) and as low as 40% of its initial lumens by the end of lamp life. Induction Lamps, on the other
hand, have superior lumen maintenance, and maintain 85% of their initial lumens through the rated life span (up to 100,000 hrs). CRI: 90.
Color Temperature: from 3500K up to 6500K.
24. Induction Lamp Features
Maintenance Free and low degradation:
Because there is no filament or electrode, the life span amounts up to 100,000 hours.
The average degradation rate is 15% in life time.
High efficiency and energy saving:
High efficiency, it achieves ≥86 lm/W, the power factor is more than 0.98, cosφ≥0.98, lamp power consumption ≤ 0.02 input ≈output.
High frequency electrode-less discharge lamp 100W is equiv to a 600W incandescent light. Under normal circumstances, a 85W high
frequency electrode-less discharge lamp light output equals to 170W of Metal Halide, 250W of high pressure sodium, and 500W of
incandescent.
Environmentally safe:
It uses less than 3mg of encapsulated solid amalgam mercury. When the bulb breaks, it will not cause pollution. The lamp is 100%
recyclable.
No flickering, low glare, good for eyes:
Because of high efficiency, there is no flickering and the light is very stable and bright. It works unaffected by vibration and/or shaking.
High dependability:
The product is available in both AC and DC models. The AC voltage is in the scope from 110V to 264V, 480V, and the DC in 12 or 24
V. The operation temperature is between -40°F to +122°F.
Rapid start, no warm-up period:
The function of start and restart is instant and it will not cause light degradation.
High color rendering index:
Color rendering index is ≥90, various Color Temperatures can be chosen from 2400K-6500K.
No radiation pollution:
The product has passed the EMC test, it does not create stray radiation pollution.
It matches the international EMI standard EN55015, GB17743-1999 national standard, and European CE requirements.
Easy to install
It is suitable in any orientation/direction and has strong anti-vibration properties.
Electrode-less Induction lamps offer:
1. Maximum energy saving for Street Lamps, Hi-Bay applications, and Horticultural growth;
2. Sizes from 40W to 200W (3,200 to 16,000 lumens);
3. Color Temperatures from 2400°K to 6400°K;
4. Low operating temperature allowing the lamps to be lowered if extremely intense light is required for benchwork, horticulture, lathe
work, etc.
5. Extreme reduction in power costs.

26. Considering NO MAINENANCE NEEDED:
By replacing one 400W High Pressure Sodium lamp with 200W Induction Lamp, $336.20 would be saved annually.
By replacing one 400W Metal Halide lamp with 200W Induction Lamps, $477.80 would be saved annually.
By Lumens count, 400W High Pressure Sodium or Metal Halide Lamp should be replaced with 165W Induction Lamp.
One hundred of 165W Induction Lamps working for 12 hrs every day for 365 days will save annually 124,830 kWh, that is $14,980 at 12c per kWh
compared to 400W Metal Halide lamp. Induction Lamps pay for themselves in savings within a year.
