The number of unauthorized immigrants in the United States has declined slightly from its peak of 12 million people to now 11.1 million people. Most of the decrease in the illegal immigrant population came from a sharp decline in immigrants from countries other than Mexico, with a 22% decrease from immigrants from the Caribbean, Central America and South America. Several states like Florida, Nevada and Virginia have seen sharp declines as well according to a report from the Pew Hispanic Center.
