The Great Migration saw many Mexican immigrants leave for the United States in the early 1900s due to factors pushing them out of Mexico like the Mexican Revolution and economic crisis, as well as factors pulling them to areas like California and Texas which had established Mexican communities and job opportunities in mining and farm labor. Immigrants faced difficult lives with dangerous border crossings, harsh living conditions, isolation, and exploitation.
