1. How does your media product
represent particular social
groups?
2. Characters
Rob Antoinette
The character The character
Rob is Antoinette is
nineteen years also nineteen
old and years old and
unemployed, unemployed,
he lives with his she lives in her
parents and is own apartment
represented that her parents
quite negatively have bought
at the start as her. She is very
he is very lazy spoilt and is
and messy. He quite a snobby
fits into the character.
“Teenager”
stereotype.
3. Gender
I think that both the male and female protagonists
are represented quite negatively in our media
product. At the beginning the male character
Rob is too lazy to get out of bed and is
surrounded by dirty clothes and rubbish,
although the female character Antoinette is very
organised and punctual, we later find out she is
very judgemental and snobby which is also very
negative.
4. Class
You can tell what sort of class the characters are by
the setting, props and costume. During the
opening we can see that Rob is working class, his
bedroom is filled with junk and he doesn't seem to
care about the fact he is unemployed as he isn't
putting much thought into his interview.
Antoinette is stereotyped as upper class, we can
see this from the way she speaks and the clothes
she is wearing. Antoinette speaks with quite a
posh voice and is dressed quite smart, the way you
would expect someone to dress for a job
interview.
