Bruce Ritter founded the Covenant House in New York City to provide shelter and support to homeless and runaway youth. He was inspired to help after several homeless children showed up at his apartment seeking shelter from the cold. Ritter transformed his apartment into temporary housing and sought help from government agencies, but was told the only option was arrest. Determined to help the children, he continued housing them and expanding services. Through Covenant House, Ritter aimed to rescue children living on the streets and provide them safe haven, meeting basic needs and caring for them. He advocated for greater support and action to address the national crisis of at-risk youth lacking stable homes and communities.

The document summarizes the roles of women in ancient Greek society. Women's primary duty was to bear children, with sons being preferred over daughters. Marriage was a transaction between men, with the father owning any children and choosing the husband. While the father had legal authority, mothers typically raised the children. Women had domestic responsibilities and their social lives were also restricted. Depictions of women in art could symbolize more than might be apparent. Women's lifestyles varied between regions and social classes in ancient Greece.

Social media can feel overwhelming, especially as a small business owner, trying to do everything. Use these tips to help save you time.
1. Sometimes God Has a Kid's Face By Bruce Ritter Lorensa Arreola HG&D TTH
This book, Sometimes God Has a Kids Face is about children who are exploited in streets of sexual
environment. Bruce Ritter moves from Manhattan College campus to the slum of the lower east side in
order to help homeless youth. He was not sure how to begin or what to do because most of the
druggies and homeless kids avoided him thinking he was an undercover officer. One night in February
1969, six kids show up. Four boys, two girls, each one half frozen and requested a place to stay. He
granted them salvation and let them in. The next day, one of the boys brought in four more, each in a
similar state of being. Bruce Ritter transformed the apartment into a short term place for the street kids
to stay. He decided to call the welfare agency and other government agencies to see if they could help.
He told the welfare agency the situation of what was going on. They let him know that what he was
doing for those kids was a noble thing but it was illegal. The only way the government could get
involved was to have the kids arrested. Bruce Ritter was not willing to cooperate in such manner,
therefore, he furnished the apartment with bunk beds to provide for the kids to sleep in. The kids began
spreading the word to other kids and they began to go to Bruce Ritter's apartment. He decided to turn it
into a covenant on Time Square and also another known as the Minnesota Strip. A 15 strip that's along
8th
ave. known for prostitution and child exploitation. Bruce Ritter was set out to save runaways,
prostitutes, and exploited children from the streets providing safe haven for homeless and runaway
teens and young adults. Doing this lead him into confrontations with pimp pushers, druggies, and
muggers. Despite being threatened, mugged and beaten, he continued providing a safe haven and the
covenant house expanded. Unless Bruce Ritter goes from slums of the lower East Side to the erotic of
Time Square and the Minnesota Strip to places around the world. There are many kids with their own
story to tell. Bruce Ritter was the man fighting courageously against evil and willingness to help the
desperate off spring that the society has abandoned by opening the doors of the covenant house.
2. Sometimes God Has a Kid's Face By Bruce Ritter Page 2
Bruce Ritter, an ordained priest in the Roman Catholic church, and a well respected
member of the Franciscan order in Rome. Bruce Ritter had never wanted to be anything else, yet little
did he know that he would end up in Times Square in a ripped apartment while caring for many
children lost in the street life. He shows how these kids are like shadows in our cities, small outlines of
skin and bones that attach themselves to abandoned buildings, park benches, narrow alleyways. When
darkness falls, these scared hungry shadows disappear into places many of us will never see. Very few
people know the faces of these shadow's or their names. They are known as the untouchables and
unreachables, America's street children. In this book, Bruce Ritter has put their incredible strong stories
informing us what goes on in the streets of New York. Bruce Ritter knew unless someone cares,
nothing was going to get better for these kids. He had a heart and wanted to help kids and others
needing his help so he set out to make a change. His mission was to rescue homeless kids from the
street. The Covenant House is the most powerful human right's movement for children in the world
beginning and ending with love. “Covenant” means different things to different people. To some, it
means God's promise and love for His children will always be fulfilled. The staff, volunteers, and
supporters in the Covenant House are the people called to fulfill that promise, everyday. In return, one
was blessed with the greatest opportunity of all, which is the chance to help the brave, good kids who
come for help. As he gatherd insight from these children, he was struck by the courage, resiliency, and
the goodness of these kids. In today's America, an American continually beset by family units breaking
down and breaking up, neighborhoods falling apart, and community clubs and associations
deteriorating-the numbers of kids falling by the wayside is a national crisis. Even worse, while the
number of new kids pouring out onto our streets is increasing, the criminals who buy and sell
vulnerable kids are more organized and ruthless than ever.
3. Sometimes God Has a Kid's Face By Bruce Ritter Page 3
For many years, runaway children have been forced into abuse, slavery, and homelessness as a
consequence to their decisions. When they ran away from home, they end up in a life of drugs or
dying. In this book he tells how he took action after seeing lost children, delicate souls needing
mending and healing. He saw them as children of God not strangers, in the end he saved many lives.
He fed them, gave them place to sleep, talked to them and understood them. He talked about their
stories in detail and realism. Bruce Ritter acknowledged how the government did little to justifyand
prevent crisis from happening. By writing about “America's Exploited Street Children, he has
opened people's eyes and hearts to how everyone important is to come together and take action.
In my opinion, Sometimes God Has a Kid's Face written by Bruce Ritter, ran the covenant house in
New York. Bruce Ritter's purpose is raising awareness and support for the Covenant House. The
approach the he uses to seek support of the Covenant House is by telling the real life stories of kids that
he has met at the Covenant House. These stories have touched my heart and shocked me at how serious
and widespread the problem of homeless kids is in our country. Problems that sometimes start at home,
where the family is broken. In this book, Bruce Ritter has educated me on a very real problem of
homeless kids in our nation. I hope that we the people, come together to continue to help save kids
from the street. Kids need to have more good hearted people that are willing to go that extra mile to
save them from the filth the world they are in this unsafe evil world. It takes deep understanding and
compassion, desire and dedication to get out there and protect kids of all ages from corruption.
Bruce Ritter's Covenant House is one where any broken kid has a way, meal, affection, love, care for
kids of all ages. He provided for those kids various ways and help for them that many kids began to go
there just by word of mouth from other broken kids.
