Global Marketplace

By having a global presence, a business can target an audience around the
world compared to the local audience attracted by a traditional store and this
will lead to more business.

                                                                                 P2
24/7 Trading

As there is no store to be staffed trading can be carried out at any time, day or
night, in all different time zones around the world then the business will be
worldwide.

                                                                                    P2
Low Start -up & Running Costs

Compared to setting up a traditional store the start up costs and
running costs of a website are relatively low. This is a great incentive to
company owners

                                                                              P2
Search Facilities

Most e-commerce sites now have a search facility where it takes just seconds
to find the product you want. There are often different criteria you can easily
add to find exact product you looking for.

                                                                                  P2
Fluid Pricing
this is when prices are increased or decreased quickly depending on circumstances.
An example is when selling airline flight tickets, as more are sold and fewer are
available, the tickets could become more expensive as the demand rises. Alternatively
when selling products like holidays as the time draws closer, the prices could go down
to ensure all the places are sold.

                                                                                P2
Consumer Trust
The consumers will not find it easy to trust websites that they go
on because there is no proof of the use of the website

                                                                     P2
Lack of Human Contact

Due to the lack of human contact between people over the internet, they
do not like buying things off the internet because the item that is being
described to them might not be describing it correctly to them and it can
be a completely different item.

                                                                            P2
Product Description Problems
When you are buying something off the internet, there will have to be a
description of the item. You will have to make sure you read the description
before purchasing the item to make sure it’s the correct item and nothing
completely different.

It is better to purchase items out of the shop because the item is right in front of
you and then you can buy it there and then.

                                                                                       P2
Security issues

There are different types of security issues, one of them being ID theft. ID theft
is when someone is pretending to be someone else for example, using there
credit card online to buy stuff.

                                                                                     P2

typed in, numbers between 0 – 255.

                                                                                   P1
Domain Names
A domain name is on an internet browser and is used when you are searching
for a website. If typed in incorrectly, it will not take you to the website.

Multiple Domain Registration
Businesses will not use just one domain name, they will need a few because they are
a business

                                                                                 P1
Ports & Protocols
Computers do not use the same protocols because it will not be possible for
the people to transmit data between each other

Browser & Platform Compatibility

There are different sort of browsers such as Safari, Google Chrome and internet
explorer.

Platform compatibility is the different sort of ways of looking at browsers

                                                                                  P1

When someone types in the search, a list of names of different sites will
come up on your screen relating to what you have searched. Sometimes
when you have searched for something, other things will show up that

engines to show their sites.

                                                                            M1

 another website.

                                                                          M1
