This document provides instructions for a research proposal assignment. Students must submit a proposal formatted with their name, university affiliation, degree track, and date. The proposal should include 5 keywords, a 100-150 word summary of the research topic and its importance, and a 100-150 word statement of interest. Proposals are due as a Word document by September 22nd and students must bring a hard copy to the university library each day the following week.

RESEARCH PROPOSAL
Task
A research proposal, also known as an abstract, is an integral stage of the research process
in any scholarly field. The effectiveness of the language you use and your ability to fully
formulate your critical thinking process in an attractive way determines whether or not you
will receive funding for your research project, whether you will be accepted to present your
work at a conference of your peers in the field, or whether your work will be accepted for
publication in a journal. As such, your proposal must be formally and professionally
addressed to the research committee, and it must be developed enough to begin conducting
research at the University of Idaho library next week.

Please format your proposal exactly as follows below. Your proposal should be single
spaced.

Due Date
Research proposals are due as a Microsoft Word Document to the BbLearn site by
Friday, September 22nd
at 11:59 pm.
You must also bring a hard copy with you to each day of Library Week, beginning
Tuesday, September 26th.
