how we work
Step 1 - Discuss
The process starts with an informal chat with one of
our technical advisors. Topics to discuss will include:
floor space, the type of product being sold, how the
retailer/customer interaction happens, restrictions,
materials, finishes, signage, lighting, budgets and
time frames. The purpose of this discussion is to
collect all the required information to form the brief.
Using the brief, we can start to sketch out initial
ideas of what the retail unit will look like. This
sketch is useful to gauge whether we are on
the right track or not with the retailer, before any
order is placed. Once the sketch has been worked
on, and the specifications of the unit are agreed in
principal, we can provide quotes.
Step 2 - Sketch
Step 3 - Visualisation Using the approved
sketches and brief,
our team of highly
qualified designers
will develop a realistic
CGI visual of how the
retail unit will look
once it is completed.
Most of our customers like to see this render
before committing to the entire order, but nearly
all shopping malls will actually require this render
before approving the retail space in the first place.
It is an important step in the whole process and
we request a small fee upfront for supply of these
visuals. Our advisers will let you know what the
fee for visuals will be from the start and this fee
is discounted off the total price of the retail unit
upon your order.

Step 6 - Pre-build
As each component
of the retail unit is
completed, they are all
positioned together in a
dedicated space in our
factory so that we are
able to confirm that there will be no issues upon
delivery. The client is invited to see this pre-build
in-case any last minute alterations are required.
Step 4 - Place Order
Once the retailer is happy with the design of
the retail unit, and they have been given the
go ahead from the shopping mall, the next
step is to place an official order with us so
that we can start the manufacturing process.
We start with the creation of detailed technical
drawings which can be used for production.
Any potential issues with sizes and materials
will be identified and solved during this
process.
Step 5 - Manufacturing
The production
drawings will make
their way into our
factory where
fabrication, and
assembly begin.
All of our retail
units are designed
manufactured here in
the UK.
At each step of
the manufacturing
process, every item
is checked for quality
to make sure the end
result is perfect. We
are proud of the work
we do, and we stand
by it.
Step 7 - Installation
Each component of the retail unit is carefully
packed for transport. All shelves are removed
and wrapped in protective materials. Any movable
items are secured in place. We liaise with the mall
personnel to arrange delivery and access for our
installation teams to make sure the final phase
happens without any issues.

counter island
Our counter islands are infinitely configurable.
Whatever product is being sold, there is a counter
island configuration that will fit any need perfectly.
A typical customer interaction will be done over
the counter, with the retailer stood on the inside
of the island and the customer on the outside.
Often used where consumables or luxury items
are being sold.
A counter island benefits from being able to serve
customers and display products securely from any
side.
Typical features will include:
• A till point built into the design
• Lockable storage
• Glass counters
• Product illumination
• Signage
Whilst a counter island can have 4 sides, it can
be designed with only 3 sides or even 2 sides
if required. For example, being used up against
a wall or in a corner. When looking at overall
footprints, a 4 sided counter island would typically
take up at least 3x3m of space (there’s no limit
on maximum size due to the modular design). All
dimensions can be tailored to suit.
Counter islands are ideal for:
• Jewellers
• Technology products
• Gifts
• Food & Drink
Also used as customer service points, or for
collecting contract sign-ups.

commercial units
Our commercial units make the most out of small
retail spaces, whilst still having a considerable
amount of customisation options. We’ve designed
our commercial units to combine elements that
attract customers, whilst allowing product to take
centre stage.
A typical customer interaction will be side-by-
side with the customer, allowing for product
demonstrations and a very high level of customer
service.
Combined with practical solutions, such as built-in
storage and till points, our commercial units take
everything an independent retailer needs into
consideration.
These commercial units are ideal for:
• Cosmetics & skin care
• Fragrances and bathing
• Fashion accessories
• Mobile phone accessories
• Florists
• Confectionery
• Toys and gifts
• Vaping products
Integrated LEDs illuminate merchandise, while
tension fabric lightboxes advertise your latest

product display, with glass shelves, slat-wall, and
tiered perimeter shelving to choose from, we have
everything covered.

zoned areas
Retail is changing. With eCommerce providing
more convenience than a trip to the shops ever
could, brands are looking to provide customers
with an experience. By creating a memorable
display, retailers are not only enhancing the power
of their brand, but the interaction they get as a
result.
Providing this type of experience has been a key
consideration for malls over the last 12 months.
A reconfigurable space, that can be occupied by
a wide range of retailers to drive exposure and
footfall.
Time and time again, centre managers, design
agencies and retailers have turned to Unibox for
bespoke Zoned retail displays.
Our merchandising systems and graphic displays
are perfectly suited to this application due to their
inherent modularity. While the zoned space may
be initially designed with outer walls for privacy,
it can just as easily be reconfigured for a free-
flowing experience that entices shoppers.
Plus, when combined with illuminated graphic
displays, a clearly communicated brand
environment suitable for large and small retailers
alike can be created.
