This document summarizes a study that assessed the effectiveness of the Tax Administration Diagnostic Assessment Tool (TADAT) framework in improving tax administration in Uganda. The study found that while awareness of TADAT was relatively high among management staff at Uganda Revenue Authority (URA), it was still low among lower-level staff. Several TADAT-fostered good practices have been implemented at URA, resulting in benefits like improved client relations and increased revenue yield. However, fully implementing all TADAT good practices faces challenges due to resource constraints. The study concludes that continuously spreading TADAT awareness and incorporating its standards into organizational plans are key to maximizing the benefits of TADAT for URA.
