This poster describes a study that examined the relationship between maternal acculturation and various health outcomes. The study found that higher maternal acculturation predicted longer hospital stays for mothers after delivery and longer infant stays in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Additionally, the study found that higher maternal acculturation was associated with more pregnancy and birth complications. Highly acculturated women also reported less overall partner support during their pregnancies. The poster presents these results through figures and statistics.

This document discusses the setting reaction and compressive strength of glass polyalkenoate cements based on calcium/sodium fluoro-aluminosilicate glasses. It examines how the addition of montmorillonite clay (MMT) and the presence of sodium influence the compressive strength over time. The key findings are:
1) Compressive strength of both cements tested increased with curing time but was higher for the cement without sodium.
2) Addition of MMT significantly increased the compressive strength of both cements, likely due to hydrogen bonding between MMT and the acid component.
3) Composition of the glass powders, particularly the presence of sodium, affects the

Project Control using functional size - which method to use?Harold van Heeringen
Project Control is one of the most difficult tasks of a project manager. To assess whether a project is still on track is very difficult because the team members often report overconfident status reports. Using functional size and specialized tooling, like QSM Control or SEER PPMC, helps the project manager to get a real good understanding of the status of the project. These tools produce accurate forecasts and offer the possibility to do what-if analysis in order to select the best way to get a project back on track. In this presentation, it is examined which method would produce the best results, NESMA or IFPUG FPA or COSMIC FPA.

The document summarizes a 3-month test of APSE TM mosquito control products. Various versions of APSE TM were added to buckets of water at concentrations of 300, 600, and 900 ppm, while untreated control buckets were also used. The buckets were monitored over time to compare larval population levels between treated and untreated buckets. Observations showed that APSE TM products 1 and 2 initially took around 3 weeks to show full effectiveness in controlling larval populations compared to the controls.

This document discusses bringing advising to the core of higher education in Ohio. It outlines the long effort to provide high-touch student support services and the rationale for increased advisor support based on audit results showing that most institutions provide only basic information services. A customer relationship management (CRM) tool is proposed to help coordinate advising across institutions. The Ohio Learning Network operated a support center but it has been discontinued due to reorganization. Potential partners for a new CRM system are identified.
The document discusses returns from both traditional and alternative investment strategies. It finds that returns generally do not follow a normal distribution and exhibit negative skewness, fat tails, and short-term persistence. While classical finance theory assumes returns are normally distributed and serially uncorrelated, empirical evidence shows significant deviations from these assumptions. Non-normal properties of returns, including negative skewness and persistence, have important implications for risk measurement and investment strategies.
The document introduces Y Worlds Cooperative, which aims to build a system for organizing and visually communicating knowledge through its "Visual Y" language. Visual Y uses dynamic patterns and representations, rather than linear text, to convey complex systems and interactions across different scales of time and space. The goal is to overcome limitations of existing forms of knowledge transmission and better understand complexity through visualization. Y Worlds is guided by principles of Nurture, Equality, Truth and Systems to pursue objective, compassionate consciousness and maximize human potential.

This document summarizes research on the declining school-aged population in Michigan and the resulting impact on educational facilities. It finds that Michigan's K-12 population is projected to decrease by 7.6% between 2000-2030, resulting in an estimated excess of 6,000 classrooms statewide. Many school districts will see enrollment drop by 10-50% over this period. Case studies of individual districts show that maintaining unused facilities will be financially challenging. Strategies like consolidation, repurposing buildings, and planned closures will be needed to align school capacity with enrollment and reduce costs. The economic downturn has further accelerated the decline in some areas.
The document provides an outline and introduction to a lecture on quality improvement given by Donald Fetterolf, MD, MBA, FACP, President of the American College of Medical Quality. The lecture covers:
1) A historical perspective on the evolution of definitions and approaches to medical quality, from early definitions borrowing from business to more modern outcomes-focused analysis.
2) An overview of basic tools for continuous quality improvement (CQI), including techniques developed by Deming, and how they have been applied in healthcare settings.
3) Learning objectives of developing an appreciation for the history of medical quality management and becoming familiar with basic and advanced CQI tools and their application in healthcare.
