Karl teaches Tom about the number row on a keyboard, instructing him on which finger to use for each number and symbol. Karl tells Tom to use his left pinky for the 1 and backtick, left ring finger for 2, left middle finger for 3, left index finger for 4 and 5, right index finger for 6 and 7, right middle finger for 8, right ring finger for 9, and right pinky for 0, minus, equals, and backspace. Karl encourages Tom to keep practicing so he can become a fast typist.

10. Use the right index finger for the ‘6’.

11. Also use the right index finger for the ‘7’.

12. Use the right middle finger for the ‘8’.

13. Use the right ring finger for the ‘9’.

14. Use the right pinky for the ‘0’.

15. Also use the right pinky for the ‘-’.

16. Also use the right pinky for the ‘=’.

17. Also use the right pinky for the ‘backspace’.

18. Keep practicing. Remember, the more you practice, the better you will get.
