So, why a new language? JavaScript has its bad parts. Mostly you can avoid them or workaraund. You can emulate class-based OOP style, modules, scoping and even run-time typing. Microsoft Typescript is a statically typed compiled language to clean and a simple plain old JavaScript code which runs on any browser, in Node.js or in any JavaScript engine that supports ECMAScript 3 (or newer).
Just a simple intro to typescript.
