4. Biography
Definition: a written account of another person's life.
A biography follows a “chronological order”, following a certain “timeline”.
o Chronological order: the arrangement of things following one after another in
time.
o Timeline: a linear representation of important events in the order in which
they occurred.

5. Memoirs
Definition: a record of events written by a person having intimate knowledge
of them and based on personal observation.
Can be considered a autobiography at times.
Example: Night by: Elie Wiesel
6. Personal Narrative
Definition : A narrative is a story. It is a series of events told through
narration. This means that a personal narrative is a story about something
important in the life of the writer.
Flashback: a device in the narrative of a motion picture, novel, etc., by which
an event or scene taking place before the present time in the narrative is
inserted into the chronological structure of the work.
Flash forward: interruption of chronological sequence (as in a film or novel)
by interjection of events of future occurrence.
