duplex
is

dwelling
that

parts
so

families

homes
share

common
wall.
• The
homes
do

to

same
floor
plan,
but
they
usually
do.

/
Flats
• These
homes
are
usually
intended
for
one
family
and
can
vary
by
size.

These
homes
occupy
part
of
a
building;
in
some
cases,
they
occupy
the

floor.
• People
do
not
buy
apartments.
Instead
they
rent
them
for
a
specific
amount
of

6. Condominium
• These
homes
are
like
apartments,
except
that
people
buy
them
instead
of
renCng
them.
• Common
spaces
are
shared
by
all
the
people
who
live
in
the
building.

Houseboat
• These
homes
are
boats
that
have
been
converted
into
homes.
• SomeCmes
people
live
in
these
year-‐round,
but
more
oRen
these
are
only
used
during
the
summer.
• Some
houseboats
are
motorized
and
owners
can
travel
in
them;
others
are

up
and
do
not
move.
