Two American businessmen, Hassan Saied Keshari and Traian Bujduveanu, pleaded guilty to conspiring to illegally export American-made military equipment, including parts for attack helicopters, transport helicopters, and fighter jets, to Iran in violation of U.S. sanctions. Keshari was sentenced to 17 months in prison and Bujduveanu received 35 months for shipping the parts from the U.S. to the United Arab Emirates for resale to Iran after receiving orders directly from Iran. The sale of military parts to Iran has been illegal under U.S. law since 1995.
