1. I TWEET THEREFORE I AM
Exactly one month and 2 weeks ago, I have taken a very wise decision: I joined Twitter!
Now I know this might sound cheesy, but I only joined it because I thought it was simply cool to be able to tweet. It sounds so classy when you are in a café and you’re like
: “Hold on one sec I’m Tweeting”. No seriously, when I first joined this amazing social networking thingy ( or whatever they call it) I was at the same time to fascinated by
how only 140 characters have revolutionized the world.
I mean it’s partially thanks to twitter that the Arab spring took place. Cool politically conscious young people started to tweet about their worries and why things need to
change. Then this “wave of awesomeness” took over, and these young people have written a new page of Arab history.
Anyways, I have been tweeting about my life. Of course my tweets were not as interesting as the those of the ones that I followed, but I learned a lot. Some people were
tweeting about the current political situation of Morocco: the parties, the newspaper articles, the protests …Etc. Some others were more into geeky stuff: cool apps, web
sites, operating systems being launched ( hey did you know that windows 8 is already on the say ? ). Some other awesome twitters( or twittos) were basically describing
themselves as pure jerks, they keep tweeting about absolutely everything and enjoy fucking around with everyone. And the list of twitto categories is long.
I have also learned some Twitter vocab, people use Hash Tags to categorize the tweets, they retweet those they like the most. They even organize Tweetups for people
living near each other. That is pretty awesome. Can u imagine if you organize a facebookup ? That sounds like a facebook hook up. I think that would be like a gang bang
or something. Hot stupid chicks with other lame dudes who barely know but like everything about each other.
Another cool thing about twitter is that the twittoma (yes that’s another twitter term) does not really look for anything specific. No one to harass you or try to hit on you, no
one to leave cheesy comments on what you say, no CENSORSHIP. The fact of being anonymous gives you an -almost- infinite freedom, so you can say whatever the hell
you want, no one will judge you unless if you are being a total dumbass. Anyways, I think that trying to put faces on the tweets is also pretty cool. You know twitter profiles,
you judge them by their ideas, not because you know or like them.
However I am tweeting about OUR twitter, the one that does not feature drake taking a piss and tweeting about it, or Mariah Carey tweeting from her studio. Fuck that shit!
I am talking about an awesome Ladygoule who was twitter of the year, a lovely Tama who keeps me happy with her tweet hugs and kisses, an awesome mixour who
introduced me to the whole twitter thing, a starving “chat de mon voisin” and many other amazing twittos.
I don’t know if this made much sense to you ( whoever you are). All I’m saying is that I have finally found somewhere where I virtually belong. I can use 140 characters to
learn, communicate, debate and have fun.
How freaking AWESOME is that ??
