Review of Last week sMoondance film Whiplash
Whiplash is about a young aspiring drummer, Andrew Neimann, often called Andy, who en­
rolls in Shaffer conservatory of music to learn Jazz. The movie begins in a classical way with
Andrew Neimann practicing his drums one late night. The dramatic movie deals with the way
Andy love drums and the hard work done by him to achieve his goal. The movie has another
lead role, Fletcher, a famous Jazz teacher at the Shaffer conservatory. Fletcher has a very
different way of teaching.
The movie also shows how Andy deals with his family, friends and his girlfriend who are not
very supportive with the carrier he has chosen, except for his father. Whiplash is about how
Andy loves music and how he finds his way in to Fletcher’s Studio Band and the way he tries
to survive there as a lead drummer. The movie has a very good background score and is influential to all irre­
spective of the age. Andy’s hard work and determination to face all severe circumstances are very well por­
trayed. It shows how music is being made under great conductors and gives us a clear cut idea about the way
one should be towards the life.’ If you have a goal in mind, simply go for it’. The movie being a slow one really
satisfies our appetite very well.

I being a movie lover, really enjoyed the 2 hours, as it is very realis­
