Trialogue groups bring together service users, caregivers, and mental health professionals to discuss experiences with mental health issues and treatment. The groups aim to communicate on an equal footing beyond stereotypical roles. They began in Germany in 1989 and now occur in several countries, growing trialogue networks. Trialogue allows an open discussion of topics like stigma, empowerment, and recovery in a neutral setting outside traditional care contexts. It facilitates a unique form of knowledge sharing and perspective taking among members with different but equally valued expertise.
