Statement of the Problem
The database system used by Tri
County Animal Shelter is in needs
to be recreated in order to meet the
shelter's information tacking
requirements.
Recommendations
We recommend an easily accessible
and readily updateable database
program. That will allow staff to
continually track member
information.
Information Requirements
 Use identification numbers
 Employee information
 Adopters
 Animals
 Events
 An integrated system for events tracking and the
amount made
 Also tracking shelter donations and methods.
Business Rules
 An application must be submitted before an
animal can be adopted by the applicant.
 Adopter’s information is kept on file
permanently.
 Follow ups are done with adopters.
 There has to be at least one veterinarian on
site at all times.
 A vegetarian Must be on site at all times.
Assumptions
 Volunteers are considered staff members.
 Veterinary students are considered
volunteers
 The shelter has staff/office employees.
 Donations can be made in cash, check and
or credit card.
