This document summarizes the results of a survey conducted by Navicure and HIMSS Analytics on patient payment behaviors and attitudes. The key findings were:
1) While most providers say they can provide cost estimates, less than 25% of patients request one, though over two-thirds of patients found estimates within 10% of the actual cost to be helpful.
2) Half of patients prefer electronic billing over paper, but most providers still use mail, and providers underestimate patients' comfort providing email addresses.
3) Providers and patients disagree on how long it takes for patients to pay their bills in full.
4) Most patients are comfortable providing credit card information for charges up to $200, and providers
HealthBotz Allscripts challenge care plan presentation finaltmarcin
The document describes HealthBotz, a web application that enables providers and patients to collaborate on care plans for patients with chronic diseases like diabetes. It addresses the problems of high healthcare costs and improving outcomes for these patients by increasing engagement in care plan creation and compliance. It outlines the technical architecture and plans for piloting the application with partners.
Mu3 dev challenge project plan for health 2.0 launch (1)health2dev
This document provides information about the Allscripts Open MU3 Stage 3 API Patient Engagement Challenge. The challenge aims to identify applications that can help hospitals and providers meet the Meaningful Use Stage 3 requirement for patients to access their health information via API from the electronic health record. To be considered, applications must connect to three Allscripts EHRs, engage patients in an easy-to-use way, and allow access to health data in standard formats. Submissions will be evaluated on criteria like usability, API integration, and potential for widespread adoption to improve patient engagement. The timeline outlines key dates for the challenge process.
This document summarizes an application that connects with three Allscripts EHRs to allow patients and their authorized representatives to request and organize health information. It complies with Meaningful Use Stage 3 requirements by sending and receiving patient data requests using the Allscripts Open API in standard formats. The application is currently in development or QA testing, with anticipated benefits to patients and providers by improving access to health information. Diagrams and details of APIs used in integrating with Allscripts EHRs are provided, as well as plans for marketing the application once generally available.
Allscripts is a large healthcare IT company that provides electronic medical record (EMR) and practice management solutions to over 5,500 clients including hospitals, physician practices, and post-acute facilities. They aim to connect healthcare providers through a single connected network and platform to share patient information. Implementing an EMR like Allscripts MyWay can help practices improve clinical outcomes and financial performance through increased safety, quality, and reimbursement while qualifying for federal stimulus incentives of up to $44,000 per provider over 5 years. Allscripts clients have reported reductions in call backs, improved billing and collections, and over $7 million in PQRI bonuses earned using Allscripts quality reporting tools.
This document discusses selecting a scaling framework for agile organizations. It describes several popular frameworks like SAFe, LeSS, and Spotify and criteria for choosing one, like the type of organization, training complexity, and cultural fit. Key aspects of scaling agile include changing organizational structures, communication practices, engineering practices, and product management roles. The document advocates for an incremental rollout approach starting with a pilot program and evolving the implementation over time through metrics and feedback.

Today’s Android developers typically build their applications projects without middleware. This is understandable considering most early apps did not communicate off the Android device. However, with Communications Middleware, this is changing.
The number of activated Android devices continues to grow, with Android holding a 43% share of the US mobile market in 2011 (that’s almost 50 million active users).1 Along with this popularity, software developers in both the commercial and DoD industries are finding new and valuable uses for more complex and distributed apps on these mobile, handheld devices. In addition, many project managers would like to make their existing software Android compatible.
Communications Middleware like CoreDX DDS provides numerous benefits to distributed software systems, and these benefits can now be taken advantage of by Android apps.
This paper will give some background information on Communications Middleware, DDS, CoreDX DDS, and Interoperability, and how they apply to Android.

HTML5 Mobile Web Framework - High Level DesignThanh Nguyen
This document discusses developing mobile applications for enterprises. It notes challenges around supporting multiple mobile platforms and devices. It proposes using HTML5, CSS and JavaScript to build hybrid mobile apps that can access native device features. This allows apps to be developed once and deployed across platforms. The document advocates developing apps using a mobile cloud platform to integrate with back-end systems and support enterprise requirements like security, management and BYOD.
The document summarizes the transition of UNAIDS' "Situation Room" from a physical room displaying data from one source to a connected system providing access to data from multiple sources across various locations and devices. The new system provides global, national, county, and facility-level views of health indicators from different data sources. It allows improved communication and targeted community actions. The system identifies healthcare facilities at risk of stockouts. The miVEDiX platform is highlighted as providing an easy to use and customizable system that can scale to integrate additional data and locations.
Android is an open source operating system used widely in mobile phones and tablets. It includes features like an application framework, Dalvik virtual machine, integrated browser, media support, and preinstalled applications from Google. High performance Serverless Java on AWS- GoTo Amsterdam 2024Vadym Kazulkin
Java is for many years one of the most popular programming languages, but it used to have hard times in the Serverless community. Java is known for its high cold start times and high memory footprint, comparing to other programming languages like Node.js and Python. In this talk I'll look at the general best practices and techniques we can use to decrease memory consumption, cold start times for Java Serverless development on AWS including GraalVM (Native Image) and AWS own offering SnapStart based on Firecracker microVM snapshot and restore and CRaC (Coordinated Restore at Checkpoint) runtime hooks. I'll also provide a lot of benchmarking on Lambda functions trying out various deployment package sizes, Lambda memory settings, Java compilation options and HTTP (a)synchronous clients and measure their impact on cold and warm start times.

Introduction of Cybersecurity with OSS at Code Europe 2024Hiroshi SHIBATA
I develop the Ruby programming language, RubyGems, and Bundler, which are package managers for Ruby. Today, I will introduce how to enhance the security of your application using open-source software (OSS) examples from Ruby and RubyGems.
The first topic is CVE (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures). I have published CVEs many times. But what exactly is a CVE? I'll provide a basic understanding of CVEs and explain how to detect and handle vulnerabilities in OSS.
Next, let's discuss package managers. Package managers play a critical role in the OSS ecosystem. I'll explain how to manage library dependencies in your application.
I'll share insights into how the Ruby and RubyGems core team works to keep our ecosystem safe. By the end of this talk, you'll have a better understanding of how to safeguard your code.
Conversational agents, or chatbots, are increasingly used to access all sorts of services using natural language. While open-domain chatbots - like ChatGPT - can converse on any topic, task-oriented chatbots - the focus of this paper - are designed for specific tasks, like booking a flight, obtaining customer support, or setting an appointment. Like any other software, task-oriented chatbots need to be properly tested, usually by defining and executing test scenarios (i.e., sequences of user-chatbot interactions). However, there is currently a lack of methods to quantify the completeness and strength of such test scenarios, which can lead to low-quality tests, and hence to buggy chatbots.
To fill this gap, we propose adapting mutation testing (MuT) for task-oriented chatbots. To this end, we introduce a set of mutation operators that emulate faults in chatbot designs, an architecture that enables MuT on chatbots built using heterogeneous technologies, and a practical realisation as an Eclipse plugin. Moreover, we evaluate the applicability, effectiveness and efficiency of our approach on open-source chatbots, with promising results.
