Presentation to MOPS group that related training children to the training of astronauts. Christian parents want to train their children to break the culture-pull of earths gravity and help launch them to an extraordinary - even supernatural - life. Moms/ Dads are mission control - but they are not alone.

- Moonwalk rehearsed and practiced what will take place... they anticipated what might happen
- Training for an astronaut simulates the g-forces felt at launch and at landing Practicing the same actions over and over and in different atmospheres..... example Indoor voice and outdoor voice it is ok -- but not in this situation
- space suits all astronauts to work outside... it protects them from the sun and the cold we have to do things to protect our children... everyone here probably has the electrical outlets covered and other safety precautions but think about what else is coming into your home even little children can understand the concept of putting on their armor
- Moonwalk rehearsals may include --- Play “store” and practice not putting everything in the basket -----Play church and practice sitting in big church -------Play going to the mall and practice putting hands in pocket when walking through china dept ---- if they had energy to fight, i’d make them run laps
- -don’t put feet on furniture... --it is your friend’s b’day -- not yours -- you’ll get presents next time ---While the car engine is still on “boys...we are about to get out of the car. we are going to open our doors very carefully so we don’t bump the car beside us.”
- We read them the great Bible stories... make priority to have devotions they need to learn Bible verses and learn how to do things
- look for stars and watch your child look for stars if you want an astronaut -- talk about things that an astronaut will one day need if you want children who have godly character -- make people and actions of godly character your heros
- when they wake up with bed head and they are wearing their ninja turtle slippers... ask God to help you see them as the wonderful people He has created them to be. Talk about their future... fathers.... providings... thank you for opening my door - what a gentleman
- take them to the nursing home with you... help them love who Jesus loves let them get cokes out of the frig to give the garbage man when he comes by....
- during the countdown mission controllers check over every system Is the rocket working? is the weather fine? are emergency systems up one NO GO call from launch controller and there will be NO launch
- Houston we’ve had a problem... these men had to construct a solution of how to get back home with the items they had... i know lots of ladies lamenting over their problems and trying to fix those problems with something they don’t have... you have to fix it with your husband... your home... your kids...your finance.... If only’s will NOT fix the problem
- GRACE -- Hallelujah we will not do it all right... if we had perfect kids --- and we dont.... if we were perfect parents --- and we arent, we wouldn’t do everything right. God’s grace lets us ask forgiveness and start new.

- Remember to start with a mission... remember you are in the mission control seat.... and watch your children soar
