Experimental traffic signals were tested for one day in Princes Square, Wolverhampton in 1927, which was the first trial of automatic traffic lights in Great Britain. The signals were installed by J. Boot from Siemens & General Electrical Railway Signal Co. A similar system was later permanently installed in October 1928.
