Traditional Hungarian foods include gulash, a popular meat and vegetable soup also known as gulyás; fish soup or halászlé, a winter soup made with fish and paprika; and töltött káposzta, meat wrapped in cabbage leaves. Popular desserts are somlói galuska, a sponge cake with chocolate cream and whipped cream, as well as chimney cakes or kürtős kalács, a cake baked on a stick over an open fire and topped with sugars, coconut, nuts or cinnamon. Savory items like lángos are fried "breads" often eaten with garlic or cheese and sour cream.
