Anıtkabir is the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder and first president of Turkey. It consists of the Road of Lions, Ceremonial Plaza, Hall of Honor containing Atatürk's tomb, and surrounding Peace Park. Pamukkale features hot springs and terraces of carbonate minerals left by flowing water in western Turkey. The Ihlara Valley was the first settlement of early Christians fleeing Roman soldiers and contains hundreds of old churches carved into volcanic rock caves.
