TOBY PASSALAQUA – VACATION EMPLOYMENT
ENGINEERING EXPERIENCE
Toby Passalaqua was employed by our company as a work experience
civil engineer over his summer vacation from 21 November 2011
through to 25 February 2012.
During this time Toby worked with various construction crews on
earthmoving and construction projects in the Albury-Wodonga area
where he was exposed to and gained first-hand experience in the
installation of in-ground services for residential subdivisions and in the
construction of roads and residential streets.
Toby gained experience in:
• Stormwater drainage pipes and pits
• Installation of electrical conduits and service pits
• Installation of watermains
• Survey and setting out for roads and services
• Experience in the operation and maintenance of earthmoving
plant and equipment
• Construction of kerb and gutter and minor concrete structures
• Bulk earthworks and compaction control
He was also exposed to the use and operation of Global Position
System equipment as it applies to earthmoving machinery, in particular
to excavators and graders for line and level control, and for surveying
purposes.
Toby was an enthusiastic and very useful member of our team, and was
punctual and reliable and applied himself to his allotted task.
I trust he found the experience he gained with our Company was a good
introduction into the career of a civil engineer.
Yours faithfully
Russell Delaney
