This document outlines a final project assignment for students in a 6th grade English class who just finished a unit on Greek mythology. Students are asked to research and create a PowerPoint presentation about a randomly assigned Greek god or goddess. The presentation should include slides about what the god/goddess represents, their family tree, personality, offerings received, a myth summary, and interesting facts. Students have one week to complete the research and presentation, which should have at least 8 slides and incorporate related graphics and pictures to make it visually pleasing.

2. The Assignment: We’ve just finished our unit on Greek Mythology, ending the unit with the reading of the book, The Lightning Thief . We’ve discussed why the Greeks created the gods and goddesses (to explain natural occurrences and human behavior), but WHO were they? 3. What is expected? You will research your assigned god/goddess using the literature found in our class AND the internet. 4. Order of slides Title page, your name(s), class period God/goddess of what? Explain. Roman name, symbols that represent your person. Family Tree: Child of? Parent of? Personality: Based on what you read, draw your own conclusions. Tell what kind of personality your person had (jealous, spiteful, caring, etc…). Provide examples.
5. Offerings? What was offered and why? Summarize a myth of your god/goddess. Any other facts or tidbits that you found interesting. Bibliography (book reference pages, web sites where information and pictures were found) You should have at least 8 slides in your power point Order of slides continued
6. Make it pleasing to the eyes! Each slide you create must have some sort of graphic (picture) that relates to the information on the slide. You can animate each slide (but DO NOT time them – questions may arise during the presentation!)

8. Day Two through Five: (Tech Town) Research more information and then start and finish your Power Point. Use the internet to gather any other information you need, as well as any graphics for your slides.GOOD LUCK!
